Act Now 1

Those of you who registered last tax year for the Working Tax Credit and/or Child Tax Credit will soon be receiving your renewal forms. It is recommend you all make a claim, irrespective of whether you have claimed before, in case your income takes a tumble.

The credits will be given based on income figures for the tax year 2003/04. If you do not qualify, as your income was too high in that year, it is strongly advised that you still register. The reason for this is that ultimately the 2004/05 tax credits will be issued based on your 2004/05 income. Therefore if you income falls sufficiently during 2004/05, you will be in a position to take advantage of tax credits.

If you have not registered your claim with the Inland Revenue, and during the course of 2004/05 your income falls, you may miss out on valuable tax credits due to late registration.

New claimants should either claim using the new Tax Credits claim form (form TC600), or can apply on-line via the Inland Revenue website.

Both credits are claimed on the same form.
Should you need assistance please phone on 01273 778802 or email.
